Our Mission is to be able to reach out to Communities and Schools by giving them the opportunity to grow,

develop and become a positive influence that is needed to advance society for a better tomorrow.

We at ‘Ignite Ministries’ believe, that by giving the youth a goal and positive outlook in life,

we will enable them to see, understand and realize it’s never too late to become part of the solution, and by working together they can move towards a bright future for them and the community.

For this to happen however the youth need Training, Mentoring and Equipping through Life-Skills Programs

that will help them develop and lay a foundation to get them ready for life after school.

Our Programs are based on a Christian foundation that promote good morals and values.

Who we Are – Meet our Team

Alida and Arno De Smidt – Leaders

Arno is the Founder, President and CEO of ‘Ignite Ministries’. God called Arno and Alida more than twenty years ago into Christian ministry and Full-Time service for the Lord. They are indeed the ‘Driving Force’ behind making this ministry work. The Miraculous and Amazing thing is that they both felt the Lord calling them to this ministry realising full well that they will not be receiving any income whatsoever from this ministry. They have, for many years now, being living purely on faith on a month-to-month basis trusting God fully to supply their needs according to His riches in glory.

Jaun Colin Botha Director

Youth Leader – Director

Also affectionately known as ‘JP’ Jaun has been involved in ‘Ignite Ministries’ and assisting Arno and Alida in the ministry for just over a year now. He is involved in both the music, worship and presenting talks at schools. He has proved to be a valuable asset to the ministry.

Ron Sampson – Director

Ron joined the team just over a year ago and basically just plays a very ‘background’ role in providing support where he can. Here he is addressing a Father-and-Son camp at one of the many events planned and organised by Arno.

Arno and Alida’s Wonderful Family.

Angela is 16 years old. Julia is now 13 years old and the youngest daughter Abbey is now 4 years old.

God has truly been gracious to both Arno and his wife Alida by blessing them with Godly children who are following their parents’ good example in putting God first in their lives.
